Comparison of Friction Behaviour of Titanium Grade 2 after Non-Contact Boriding in Oxygen-Containing Medium with Gas Nitriding

چکیده

The surface characteristics and friction behaviour of titanium Grade 2 with modified nitride (TiN, Ti2N) boride (TiB) compound layers were investigated. It was shown that during non-contact boriding in oxygen-containing medium titanium, the diffusion processes take place mainly by interscale mechanism; however, nitriding, besides traditional mechanism, grain boundary mechanism nitrogen atoms is also realized. optimal set roughness parameters (height step parameters, a combination kurtosis asymmetry, profile reference curve parameters) obtained after boriding. determined intensity adhesive wear tribo-pairs stainless steel ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene under dry sliding conditions influenced not only hardness but layer. lowest coefficient fixed for TiB layer both tribo-pairs.
